TV4ever for Chrome is Dead

Google has killed off all Chrome Web Apps. Tv4ever 1.x for Chrome was a web app. It will never work again.


Long live TV4ever 2.x for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Whatever you record, SMplayer and VLC will be able to play it.

Yet you might want to convert the recordings to mp4, mkv or some other format.

TS TO MP4 (fast)

  1. Launch Avidemux
  2. Load the TS-file (i.e. fun-and-games-7.ts)
  3. Choose Output Format - MP4 Muxer
  4. Save the file as mp4 (i.e. fun-and-games-7.mp4)

TS TO MKV (fast)

  1. Launch Avidemux
  2. Load the TS-file (i.e. fun-and-games-7.ts)
  3. Choose Output Format - Mkv Muxer
  4. Save the file as mkv (i.e. fun-and-games-7.mkv)

TS+SRT TO MKV (fast)

  1. Launch MKVToolnix
  2. Load the files (i.e. fun-and-games-7.ts, fun-and-games-7.srt)
  3. Click Start multiplexing

If you want to trim the recording, locate the Output tab, choose Split mode: After specifix timestamps og tell MKVToolnix where to cut (i.e. 00:01:34,00:57:25 sets a start point and an end point)

TS, FLV, WHATEVER TO MP4 OR MKV (slow)

  1. Launch Handbrake
  2. Load the file or files (i.e. fun-and-games-7.ts)
  3. Choose Output Settings - Container - MKV (or MP4)
  4. Choose Subtitles - Import SRT
  5. Start encode

Avidemux, MKVToolnix and Handbrake are all very useful desktop applications for video conversion and multiplexing. It takes a while to get to know them. Good luck.
